Cetus Unveils SUI Recovery Plan for $223M Exploit, Puts $162M Asset Reclamation to Community Vote
Decentralized exchange Cetus has proposed a protocol-level recovery plan following a $223 million exploit on the Sui blockchain. The proposal, now open for community voting, WOULD authorize a network upgrade to forcibly recover $162 million in frozen assets from hacker-controlled wallets.
The sui Foundation has released on-chain voting code, allowing validators and token holders to determine the disposition of the frozen funds. Participants can vote directly or through delegation, presenting a significant test of decentralized governance in addressing major security incidents.
